Charges have been made against three Cameron residents as a result of an investigation of multiple break-ins in Chatham County. According to a press release by the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, between July 24 and Aug. 7, multiple break-ins were reported in western Chatham County.

Chatham Habitat for Humanity will have its Cars for Castles Cruise-In on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Chatham County Fairgrounds, 191 Perry Grave Yard Road, Pittsboro. Pig pickin' BBQ plates, raffle prizes, door prizes and more will more will be featured.
Commissioner Jay Farrell, who voted against the move, said he didn't think it was going to help the local economy that much. "Down the road, when we have all these restaurants, hotels, and whatever, it may be necessary, but I just don't see right now the great economic development that we'll get out of selling alcohol at 10 o'clock on Sunday morning," he said.
The Chatham County Schools board members will meet during a special session at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the headquarters of Chatham County Schools, 369 West St., Pittsboro, to discuss and potentially revise Policy 5030, Community Use of Facilities, and Policy 5210, Distribution of Non-School Material, and to discuss the impact of criminal background checks/screening during the application/hiring process.
